Example of Lip Area Enhancements

Prevelle Silk - Low Reaction Hyaluronic Gel Dermal Filler

Benefits of Prevelle Silk:

  • the perfect "last minute" filler - get it today and be ready for any event tomorrow
  • ideal for sensitive skin with low reaction rate, even in very sensitive areas due to lower concentration of HA
  • formulated with lidocaine anesthetic for comfort of injection - no lip block required for lip enhancement
  • minimal swelling on injection because Prevelle is fully hydrated right out of the syringe - what you see if what you get
  • plump thin, delicate areas without ridging or lumping
  • no pre-testing
  • lower costs

Nearly all hyaluronic gel fillers present some post-injection swelling. Why? Because the concentration of the hyaluronic acid draws water to these water-loving molecules. Within a few days a natural equilibrium is reached and swelling is abated.

Often patients want a last-minute filler and don't have time for the resolution of the initial swelling response. That's were Prevelle fits in perfectly. With a lowered concentration of hyaluronic acid, and molecules that already are fully saturated, there is very little swelling and any that does occur is generally completely gone by the next day.

Prevelle is also an ideal "first-timer" dermal filler. The lowered concentrations mean that Prevelle will last a lesser amount of time than the higher-concentration formulas of Juvederm or Restylane. This allows you to "try on" a dermal filler without a long term commitment. If longer lasting results are then desired, it's easy to switch. Duration is around 2 months.

Where can Prevelle Silk be used?

  • lips
  • lip border
  • lip lines
  • nasolabial folds
  • superficial facial wrinkles

An Ideal Holiday Filler

Last minute parties mean last minute preparations. Prevelle is easy to inject and with the low reaction profile, you can easily have your injection on Thursday and attend a party on the weekend without worry that you'll look unnaturally puffy.

(Cllnical studies and use show 24 hours to be normal patient response time. Patients with unusually high sensitivities may experience a somewhat longer post-injection response. If you have experienced a high level of injection response in the past or have never had filler injections before, Dr. Pilest recommends that you receive your Prevelle Silk injections 5 to 7 days prior to an event.)

Any drawbacks?

Mainly the longevity of the product. Prevelle appears to last around 60 to 90 days depending upon the area of use, whereas the two most popular hyaluronic acid fillers (Restylane or Juvederm) can last 6 months or more. Prevelle is cheaper, however, and with the minimal discomfort associated with its injections, does seem to have a nice niche.

Prevelle is recommended for patients who want the following: Less reaction and swelling, less discomfort with injection, a lower price point, and don't mind a shorter-lasting result.

Pre and Post Injection Advice

  • stopping Aspirin for one week prior to the injection and refraining for Ibuprofen usage for three days prior to the appointment
  • ice, rest and minimal movement of the area for the first 24 hours following the injection
  • We also suggest  Limiting alcohol ingestion prior to the injection and for 48 hours following the procedure will limit the swelling and bruising as well
