Botox Treatments in Orange County, California
When you think of treatments for fine lines and wrinkles, you’re probably already thinking of Botox. Botox is the world leader in neuromodulator treatments because it’s safe and it works. Dr. Pilest is a Diamond Botox Cosmetic Physician with over 38 years’ experience. As an injection training physician, he has expanded expertise in the use of Botox and dermal fillers in Orange County and around the world. We strive to deliver the best Botox Irvine has to offer. All Botox and filler injections are provided solely by Dr. Pilest.
Botox injections are the most frequent cosmetic procedure in the industry, according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS)…with good reason. BOTOX® has been used safely and successfully in ophthalmology since 1989. It has been used for wrinkle therapy even before its 2002 FDA cosmetic approval. Only minute amounts of diluted toxin are injected for wrinkle reduction.
There are alternative neuromodulators on the market, but none have the history of Botox.
Allergan — the maker of Botox — produces alternate products like Juvederm and Latisse. Other brands of botulinum toxin serums like Dysport, Xeomin, and Jeuveau exist as well, and your injector will help you find the treatment that makes the most sense for you. Other procedures that provide similar effects to Botox include:
These products aim to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, scars, and other blemishes by filling in areas that are lacking substance or tissue. Using biosynthetic materials, fillers are injected into problem areas to smooth your skin. Dermal fillers fill in wrinkles instead of affecting the underlying musculature that creates lines and creases.
This procedure utilizes highly-targeted light energy to destroy damaged skin and promote the body’s natural healing process. Doing so can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and discoloration. This procedure cannot inhibit the reappearance of wrinkles or prevent the formation of new lines.
Similar to resurfacing, this technique can temporarily reduce the appearance of creases by prompting the body to remove old skin cells and produce more collagen. Unlike Botox, its effects are less pronounced and rely on healthy systems within the body to create the desired effects.

Side effects of BOTOX are minimal, with slight discomfort upon injection of the solution.
This may be minimized by the use of Emla cream one hour prior to the injection. Bruising at the site of injection may occur but is not common. One percent of Irvine Botox patients develop a slight lowering or ptosis of one eyelid and, also rarely, asymmetry of facial expression. These effects are temporary and may not even be noticed by the patient. Caution: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued statements warning of the possible hazards of “BOTOX parties.” Whether used to treat medical conditions such as blepharospasm or strabismus or cosmetic concerns such as furrow lines, a BOTOX injection is a medical procedure that should be performed in a controlled medical environment by a licensed physician.
